First Lady Gwendolyn L. Watts
Gwendolyn L. Watts is the first lady of Deliverance Tabernacle of Praise, Inc. where she
proudly serves under the leadership of her husband and pastor, Bishop-Elect R.G. Watts.
Her love for God is evident in her humble nature and her ministry to the congregation
and the community. She is an active force in Deliverance Tabernacle of Praise, currently
serving as the president of the Women’s Department known as the Women of Faith.
First Lady Watts is the mother of three daughters and one son, Leonora Walker, Arcadia
Thomas, Allison Butler and Stephen Watts. First Lady Watts is the second oldest child of
the Late Charlie Leach and National Evangelist Ophelia Dawson.
First Lady Watts was saved at a young age and became the aid of National Evangelist
Ophelia Dawson spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout numerous cities across
the U.S. Running nightly revivals, healing the sick, ministering to the broken hearted
and providing hope to the hopeless as Jesus led the crusade across the country. Lady
Watts served faithfully with her husband at Deliverance Cathedral of Love in Raleigh N.
C. under the tutelage of the illustrious Bishop M.S. Nesbitt serving as Sunday school
teacher, Girl Scout Troop Leader, and seamstress for the DCL Drama Club. Bishop-Elect
Watts and First Lady Watts continue to work close together in the vineyard, now, at
Deliverance Tabernacle of Praise, Inc in Fayetteville and Molena Georgia, and the harvest
is being blessed. She has worked tirelessly next to our Pastor remodeling and renovating
both church edifices to the glory of God.
As First Lady of Deliverance Tabernacle of Praise, Lady Watts is President of the Women’
s Department, which sponsors a monthly fellowship and luncheon for and by the
Women of DTOP. Lady Watts also hosts DTOP’s annual “Women’s Day” Service,
which seeks to promote sisterhood within the Body of Christ and the community.
Further, she serves as a missionary, visiting the sick and shut in, ministering to young
girls who have lost their direction and builds up those that have been torn down by the
trials and tribulations of life. First Lady Watts truly has a heart and passion for young
people. There is nothing she will not do to please the Lord.
Although the odds were stacked against her, as a young girl, and she may have come
through many tests and trials, Lady Watts has let nothing stop her from achieving the
goals God has set for her life. She is yet determined and committed to giving Him her
best, and, as a vessel of honor in the hands of God, she seeks no praise for herself. Her
only desire is to do the will of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
